Revival or renewal?

Pastor Gomez is rightly dead on as well as deadly right on.

In deed (AND word and thought), we need to turn from our self-oriented ways and follow His biblical mandate to the jot and tittle that is our Lord and great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

BUT ...

Whatever happened to discerment in these last days? What seems to pass for genuine revival is so often CARNAL and worldly.

1 Cor. 14:12 says that all is done for the building up of the church (edification}.

This doesn't mean edifice - or popularity contests - or marketing philosophy. It's His way or no way.

We are told ins the sermon on the mount (Mt 7:1) "judge not lest ye be judged."

But "discernment of spirits" (1 Cor. 12:10) is a bona fide gift of the Holy Spirit and has the same greek root "krino" with the preposition added "dia".

It is God who judges the quick and the dead but WE who are to test the spirits to see if they are of the Lord or of His principal adversary, the devil (1 Jn 4:1).

In other words - quick input - more "diacritical" discernment of the real Jesus Christ and less attention-getting mass outpourings that are sometimes as removed from biblical faith as the self-abusing fanatical prophets of Baal in Elijah's day.

Let's get biblical and see clearly that it is NOT a numbers game (never has been). It's the predestined quality of His select remnant known in eternity beforehand NOT the hyped quantity of mass crusades that really counts.

One would be well serviced to get a copy of "Does the Truth Matter Anymore" by John MacArthur from his ministry or Florida's CROSSTV.com

Agape and Amen,

Great Article!

Remember guys, we are apart of a body. If we abide in our calling, the work will get done. I like to think of it this way. Regardless of the motives of those in ministry, everyone has a pay day. Let them gather them small and great. God is wiser than we are and He's a good daddy too. His work will be completed and He will reward every man according to his labor. My heart is that who soever will let him come, so we are ready and willing to contribute any way we can. Just call us and we'll be there.

Sure, but it can't just come from pastors. I'm amazed every day at how few Christians truly spend any time in prayer. It has to start there. And it doesn't take many, let's pray it in.

As Pastors' who have a passion and a heart for souls and not social notariety, we have to respond to this article. We don't know if we speak for the few Pastor's in the Tampa Bay Area who have like passions and desire to see the will of God done. There are but a few of us who would like to join together and see the Power of God move in this city, however, I believe that there are so many that speak unity, and love, but their hearts are far from it. They have their own hidden agendas, and they really don't desire to work with anyone, but to step over everyone just to see their name in lights. There is a scripture that says that "the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one that endures until the end. Ministry is not about building membership, but about teaching the lost how to have a quality relationship with God. The church has lost its savour. It has forgotten its sole purpose. It desires to compete with others, instead of work and pray with others. Our biggest fear is that because there are a few of us who are in this for souls and not for status, that we've become sore afraid to connect with others because of relationships that have been severed due to wrong motives. Please, Pastors, Ministers, Evangelists, Teachers, hear the word of the Lord! We all must work while it is day, because when night comes, no man shall work. We all have a part in this mighty work that God causing to go forth in this day. Let the diversed anointing that God has instilled in each of you band together to get the work done. Our visions are no less than any others, the hand cannot say that it has no need for the foot. We are many members but only one body and we all have a function. We can't function without each other. Lets run this race together, and see God's purpose carried out! Thank you Minister Gomez for your part in this mighty work that God is doing!

In Love,

Apostle Al & Pastor Tami Gallon

I totally agree with this article. It has been so hard for me to get anyone at my church, or others that I have contacted for that matter, to agree to even get together with leaders of other churches locally just to pray and work together toward the one goal of reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I just found out about this ministry today on the radio 91.1 and I am very excited to know that someone cares enough and has the know how to pull this off. I feel like I am alone in this fight now I know that I am not. Thank you. You are an answer to my prayers.
